How Did You Meet?: We met at a wedding in May of 2010. Mike, the groom, was a good friend of mine and Elesha happened to be Mike’s cousin and was also in attendance. Part way through the reception Mike’s sister came up to me and said she wanted to introduce me to her cousin. Pretty obvious who that ended up being. We hit it off and spent the rest the reception talking and dancing. The rest, as they say, is history.
Engagement Story?: Being a pretty laid back couple I didn’t want anything really flashy for the engagement ring and I knew Elesha would feel the same. After deciding this was going to happen I enlisted the help of Jesse at Rottermond who made the process of picking out the diamond and setting extremely easy and was really a huge help in finding something that Elesha deserved, but also something that wasn’t over the top. As far as the proposal goes I tried to plan a few different things, but those plans got ruined one way or another so I came to the conclusion I would just completely surprise Elesha. So while we were relaxing at home watching TV one night I went into the other room and got the ring. She had a ring that she always wore on that finger already so when I came back out to the living room I reached down to remove the ring she had on and I set it on the table. While she looked up at me very confused I got down on one knee, popped open the ring box and asked her to marry me. Her initial shock led to some tears and asking me if I was joking. After a few more seconds of her saying she was in shock and I think asking again whether I was joking or whether it was real, I had to ask “so is that a yes?”. While wiping away tears a big smile appeared on her face and she said yes!
