The John Hardy Story

Last September, we were thrilled to announce the addition of John Hardy to both our Brighton and Milford locations! Now that many of our clients have seen it, it’s time to tell you why we adore this line so much! For those of you who are not familiar with John Hardy, it was started by the Canadian artist John Hardy who traveled to Bali and fell in love with the island, its culture, and people. John Hardy stayed there and let the island truly saturate his designs, creating unique and eclectic sterling silver and 18 karat gold jewelry. Not only did he take his inspiration from Bali, but he also included the inhabitants in his “Jobs for Life Program”, ensuring that talented artisans are employed and able to pass down their craft from generation to generation. Each piece is hand crafted by men and women in Bali, and believe me, you can tell the attention to detail given to each earring, pendant, ring, bracelet, and chain.

Not only is the quality impeccable, but there are several collections to choose from, so you are sure to find something you can’t live without. Our favorite collection is Legends, because of the rich story behind it. There are several creatures in the collection, but Naga is the true star. Naga is the dragon that is said to protect the island and inhabitants of Bali. Guardian by day, romantic by night, Naga dives down into the depths of the ocean to be with its one true love, the pearl. The blue sapphire eyes, characteristic of most of the new Naga pieces, will remind the wearer of the blue seas surrounding this beautiful island. Who said that dragons can’t be both fearsome and romantic?
